Keely Hodgkinson won the women's 800 m in 1:55.30, a championship record by more than a second and a half over Ludmila Formanová's 1999 mark, and the second-fastest indoor 800 m ever run behind her own world record from February. Switzerland's Audrey Werro took silver in 1:56.64, a national record, and Addison Wiley of the United States bronze in 1:58.36. Less than an hour later Hodgkinson ran a 50.10 leg in the 4x400 m. The United States won that relay in 3:25.81.
The men's 800 m went to a schoolboy. Cooper Lutkenhaus of the United States won in 1:44.24 at 17 years and 93 days, the youngest world indoor champion in any event; the previous youngest, Mohamed Aman, was 18. Eliott Crestan of Belgium was second in 1:44.38, his third straight medal at these championships, with Mohamed Attaoui of Spain third in 1:44.66 and Australia's Peter Bol fourth in an Oceanian record 1:45.14.
Georgia Hunter Bell won the women's 1500 m in 3:58.53 from Jessica Hull, 3:59.45, an Oceanian record and Hull's second individual medal of the weekend, and Nikki Hiltz, 3:59.68. Mariano García of Spain beat Portugal's Isaac Nader in the men's 1500 m, 3:39.63 to 3:40.06, with Adam Spencer third. García won the 800 m world indoor title in 2022 and is the first man to hold both.
Devynne Charlton equalled her own 60 m hurdles world record of 7.65 for a third straight title. The United States men ran 3:01.52 in the 4x400 m, a championship record a hundredth off the world best. The United States finished with five golds and Britain with four.
A 17-year-old and a 1:55 on the same evening. Indoor seasons are not supposed to end like that.
