Berehanu Tsegu wins the Prague Marathon in 2:05:52, nearly two minutes clear
The Ethiopian beat Kenya's Felix Kipkoech by 1:54 on 3 May; 9,076 runners finished, and Yann Havlena was first Czech home in 2:17:49.

The Vodafone Prague Marathon was run on Sunday 3 May, and the men's race was over early. Berehanu Wendemu Tsegu of Ethiopia, wearing bib 2, won in 2:05:52. Felix Kipkoech of Kenya was second in 2:07:46, one minute 54 seconds behind, and Andualem Belay Shiferaw of Ethiopia third in 2:08:00. Nobody else was within three minutes of the winner.
Kenya's Justus Kipkorir Limo, 2:08:34, and Barselius Kipyego, 2:08:39, were fourth and fifth, so five men broke 2:09 behind a winner who was nearly two minutes clear of all of them. Yann Havlena was the first Czech runner home, 12th overall in 2:17:49. The organisers' results list 9,076 finishers in all.
A margin of one minute 54 seconds at that pace means nobody in the field could live with Tsegu once he went. Prague's results page does not say when that was; the gap says it was early.
A 2:05 in the first weekend of May is a serious run in any year. Prague has been a quick course for a long time, and it was again.
