Rachel Entrekin wins the Cocodona 250 outright in 56:09:48, the first woman to do it

She beat every man in the field by 79 minutes and Dan Green's overall course record by more than two hours; Kilian Korth set a men's record of 57:28:36.

The Cocodona 250 started at 5 a.m. on Monday 4 May in Black Canyon City, Arizona, with nearly 400 runners and a 125-hour cutoff. On Wednesday afternoon Rachel Entrekin reached the finish in Flagstaff in 56 hours, 9 minutes and 48 seconds. Nobody else had finished. She is the first woman to win the race outright, and her time took more than two hours off the overall course record Dan Green set last year.

It was her third Cocodona win in a row. In 2025 she ran 63:50:55 for fourth overall and cut seven hours from the women's record; this year she cut another seven and a half. Kilian Korth was the first man home in 57:28:36, which is a men's course record and the second-fastest time ever on the course, 1 hour 19 minutes behind her. Cody Poskin was second man in 58:13:44, nearly 13 hours faster than in 2025, and DJ Fox third in 59:29:03. Courtney Dauwalter, who dropped out last year, was second woman in 61:58:35, with Megan Eckert third in 63:09:07.

The course was 253 miles this year, about three miles shorter than in 2025, point to point from Black Canyon City to Flagstaff with roughly 39,000 feet of climbing and a high point of 9,000 feet on Mount Elden. The early running was cool under cloud, with temperatures in the 50s. A cold rain fell in the dark on the second night. Day three was sunny.

A 250-mile race is less about speed than about the hours you don't spend stopped. Entrekin has now rewritten this one three years running, and this time she rewrote it for everybody.
