It is a collegiate record; Athing Mu's 1:57.73 had stood since April 2021, and the meet record was Roisin Willis's 1:58.13 from last year. Hayley Kitching of Penn State was second in 1:57.65, also inside the old meet record, with Duke's Lauren Tolbert third in 1:58.22 and three more women under 1:58.60.
Rosemary Longisa of Washington State won the 1500 m in 4:12.10 from South Carolina's Salma Elbadra and Oregon's Juliet Cherubet. The 5000 m was a four-way sprint: Marion Jepngetich of New Mexico 15:13.01, Mercyline Kirwa of Iowa State 15:13.72, Florida's Judy Chepkoech 15:14.05. Kirwa had already won the 10,000 m on Thursday in 31:54.88, from Pamela Kosgei, 31:56.49, and BYU's Jane Hedengren, 31:57.94, who holds the collegiate record at the distance. Taylor Lovell of BYU won the steeplechase in 9:21.03.
On Thursday Amanda Moll of Washington cleared 4.84 m in the pole vault on her last attempt, a collegiate record over the 4.80 m held by Hana Moll, who was second.
Georgia won the team title with 50 points from Florida on 43, Arkansas 38, Oregon 36 and USC 32.
Jallow's run and Moll's vault are two collegiate records in three days at the meet that counts, the championship.
