Stian Dahl Sommerseth of Norway won in 11:44:03. Manuel Hartweg of Germany was second in 11:56:18, twelve minutes back, and Maxime Pellouchoud of Switzerland third in 12:23:59. Leon Kriesmair of Germany ran 12:28:56 and Arne Detavernier of Belgium 12:59:17.
Alina Wylezalek of Poland won the women's race in 14:01:24, ninth overall. Daniela Mackner of Switzerland was second in 14:24:35 and Julia Harnie of France third in 14:57:36.
The E51 over 51 km went to Luke Grenfell-Shaw of Great Britain in 4:45:07 and Sofia Haajanen of Finland in 5:53:44. The weekend also had the E250 team race, which was shortened because of the weather, and shorter races down to 16 km, with thousands of runners across the week. The Eiger is one of the UTMB World Series races that hand out running stones for the finals in Chamonix.
A hundred kilometres with more climbing than Mont Blanc stands above the sea, in under twelve hours. The Alps make the numbers look ordinary. They are not.
