World Athletics published the 2027 Wanda Diamond League calendar on Tuesday. The 18th season of the series opens in Doha on May 7 and runs through 14 qualifying meetings before the two-day final in Zurich on August 25 and 26.

The schedule spans 15 cities on four continents. After Doha, the series moves to China for back to back meetings in Shanghai or Keqiao on May 15 and Xiamen on May 22, then to Rome on May 27 and Rabat on May 30. Europe's early summer swing runs through Oslo on June 3 and Stockholm on June 6, before Paris on June 25.

The only North American stop is Eugene on July 3. From there the circuit returns to Europe for Monaco on July 9, Lausanne on July 13 and London on July 17, then Silesia on August 15 and Brussels on August 20 ahead of the Zurich final.

Athletes collect points across 32 disciplines at the 14 qualifying meetings. The leading scorers in each event advance to Zurich, where the winners are crowned Diamond League champions for the season.

World Athletics also framed the calendar as a buildup year. The 2027 season is the last major tour before the World Athletics Championships in Beijing that September, so most of the sport's top names are expected across the circuit.

Zurich's Letzigrund has hosted the Diamond League final every year since the series adopted its current format, and will do so again in 2027.

Our take: a calendar this far out mostly tells you who is planning around what. A packed European block in June and July, one US stop, and Beijing waiting in September. Nothing to watch yet, but worth marking down.
