What we collect, and what we don’t.

This covers graval.co, the Stride by Graval app and the Graval Magazine app. Questions go to hello@graval.co.

Stride by Graval

No account. You don’t sign up, and we don’t ask for your email.

Apple Health. With your permission the app reads your running workouts, distance, heart rate, step counts, workout routes and your date of birth from Apple Health, to tick off your plan, show your runs and set your paces. This data stays on your phone. We do not send it to our servers, and we never write to Apple Health.

Your plan. Your answers (race, level, mileage, run days, your name if you gave one) and the plan the app writes are stored on your phone, in your iPhone backup and, if you use iCloud Drive, in your own iCloud so the Mac app can show the same plan. Not on our servers.

Races near you. If you search for races, the ZIP code you type is sent to RunSignup to get the list. Nothing else is sent, and we don’t keep the search.

Subscription. Payment is handled by Apple. We see whether a subscription is active; we never see your card.

Garmin Connect. Connecting is optional. You sign in on Garmin’s own page and choose what to share; we never see your Garmin password. Once connected, our server holds the access token Garmin issues, a random key that ties it to your phone, each run Garmin sends us (distance, time, heart rate, cadence, elevation, the GPS track, lap times, and the training effect and running form from the watch’s own file) for up to 30 days, and Garmin’s latest VO2 max estimate if you allow it, until your phone has collected it. Your sessions are written to your Garmin calendar. Unlink in Stride’s settings, or remove Stride in Garmin Connect, and everything we hold for you is deleted at once. Nothing is sold, shared or used for anything but showing your runs and adjusting your plan. The only parties that process it are our hosting providers, Vercel (the server) and Upstash (the database); no AI system reads it, and it is never used to train models. To see, correct, export or delete what we hold, write to hello@graval.co.

Other watches. COROS and Suunto connections are not built yet. When they arrive, this page will say exactly what is stored before the feature goes live.

No tracking. No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no selling or sharing of data.

Graval Magazine

The app shows the magazine from graval.co. It keeps a copy of the issues on your phone for offline reading. No account, no tracking.

graval.co

If you buy from the shop, your name, address and order go to our fulfilment and payment partners to make and ship the order; the card is handled by Stripe. Order emails come from us. We keep order records as long as the law requires. No advertising trackers.

Children

Our apps and site are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Your choices

Remove Apple Health access any time in iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access. Delete the app and its data goes with it. For shop orders, write to hello@graval.co and we’ll tell you what we hold and delete what we can.

Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
